Role Title: Power BI Architect – Executive Financial Dashboards (Contract) Location: Houston, TX Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote) Duration : Long Term Role Summary The Power BI Architect will lead the design and delivery of executive‑level dashboards, data models, and BI solutions. This role is responsible for turning curated enterprise data (primarily in Snowflake) into intuitive, insightful, and reliable dashboards used by senior leadership across Finance, Operations, HSE, Commercial, and European business units. Dashboards will cover Net Revenue, EBITDA, Cash Flow, Production, Capacity, TRIR, operational KPIs, market prices, and HSE data. Strong business acumen and stakeholder management are essential. Experience with SAP BPC and SAP S/4HANA is helpful but not mandatory. This is a hybrid contract role requiring 3 days per week in the office and close collaboration with European teams, including some overlapping time with Central European working hours. Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Data Modeling • Define the overall Power BI architecture for Project RISE, including workspace strategy, datasets, dataflows, shared semantic models, and governance. • Design and build performant, scalable Power BI data models (star schemas, calculation groups, shared datasets) that can serve multiple executive dashboards and self‑service scenarios. • Implement core business measures in DAX for financial and operational KPIs (Net Revenue, EBITDA, Cash Flow, production volumes, capacity utilization, TRIR, safety, and HSE metrics). • Collaborate with the Snowflake Data Architect and data engineering teams to ensure underlying data structures are optimized for analytical consumption and aligned across regions. Dashboard & Report Development • Lead the design and development of executive dashboards that clearly communicate financial, operational, commercial, and safety performance. • Work with Finance, Operations, HSE, Commercial, and European stakeholders to define use cases, create wireframes, and prototype dashboards focused on decision‑making. • Implement intuitive navigation, drill‑downs, cross‑filtering, and narrative design to help executives move from high‑level KPIs to underlying drivers. • Ensure dashboards follow consistent visual standards, are easy to interpret, and align with corporate branding guidelines. Pipelines, Governance & Lifecycle Management • Set up and manage Power BI deployment pipelines (Dev/Test/Prod), including version control and release processes. • Define governance for datasets: ownership, change management, refresh schedules, and documentation. • Configure, monitor, and optimize data refreshes from Snowflake and other sources; troubleshoot performance issues across reports and models. • Implement and maintain row‑level security (RLS) and other access controls to protect sensitive financial and HR-related data. Business Partnership & Communication • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, HSE, Commercial, and European teams to: • Understand business questions and KPI definitions. • Translate requirements into clear analytical designs and dashboard specifications. • Validate calculations and logic with subject‑matter experts. • Facilitate design sessions, demos, and feedback cycles with stakeholders and executives. • Train and support power users and analysts to extend reporting capabilities in a governed self‑service model. Collaboration & Ways of Working • Operate effectively in a hybrid environment, being onsite 3 days per week for workshops, stakeholder reviews, and cross‑functional collaboration. • Coordinate with European teams and stakeholders, ensuring regular overlap with CET for joint design sessions, testing, and go‑live support. • Participate in Agile or iterative delivery practices (sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives). Standards, Best Practices & Enablement • Establish and promote standards for Power BI development (naming, folder structures, DAX patterns, visualization guidelines, documentation). • Mentor other BI developers and analysts
