Sr Python Engineer ($50/hr)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer to join our global technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python and object-oriented programming, experience with modern ETL frameworks, and strong SQL skills across Oracle and MS SQL databases. This role requires not only technical excellence but also the ability to collaborate effectively within a globally distributed team and engage directly with clients. Experience in the investment management domain (asset or wealth) is essential. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and applications using Python and modern ETL frameworks (e.g., PySpark, dbt). • Contribute to the design and architecture of complex systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability. • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced SQL queries in Oracle and MS SQL environments. • Collaborate closely with global engineering and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions. • Partner with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure successful delivery. • Apply domain expertise in investment management (asset or wealth) to design solutions aligned with business needs. • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in coding, design, and architecture. Must-Have Skills • Strong proficiency in Python with solid understanding of object-oriented programming. • Hands-on experience with PySpark, dbt, or similar ETL frameworks. • Advanced SQL skills with expertise in Oracle and MS SQL databases. • Proven ability to work in a globally distributed team environment. • Excellent collaboration, communication, and client engagement skills. • Ability to contribute to system design and architecture. • Domain experience in investment management (asset or wealth). Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 6+ years of professional experience in Python development and data engineering. • Demonstrated track record of building robust, scalable, and maintainable systems. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
