Sr. Security (Data Protection) Engineer Location: Atlanta, GA Top Skills Required: • Microsoft Intune • Microsoft BitLocker (MBAM) • Microsoft Purview • Microsoft 365 • Microsoft Azure Role Overview: We are seeking a Data Protection Engineer to join a team of security professionals protecting one of the world's largest global airlines. In this role, you will collaborate across multiple teams to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale data protection solutions. You will play a key role in expanding the organization's Data Protection program while implementing industry's best practices to safeguard sensitive information. This position requires a self-motivated, adaptable individual with a strong passion for improving security posture and protecting critical enterprise data. Required Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 security technologies, including Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Purview. • Hands-on experience with Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM). • Strong understanding of secure system architectures, policies, and controls. • Experience designing and automating data protection strategies in cloud environments (Azure). • Experience securing both structured and unstructured data. • Hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions. • Experience managing CASB solutions. • Experience deploying and managing data classification solutions. • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Customer-focused mindset with a creative and adaptive work ethic. Key Responsibilities: Data Protection & Security Engineering • Architect, implement, document, and maintain data protection technologies, including BitLocker endpoint encryption. • Lead enterprise-scale Microsoft Intune implementation and migration efforts. • Design and implement device management and security policies using Microsoft Intune. • Administer data protection tools, including patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, testing, and reporting. • Develop and manage data protection policies using regex, machine learning, fingerprinting, and dictionaries. • Implement cloud-based security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. • Evaluate and deploy new data protection solutions aligned with cloud and business requirements. Security Operations & Incident Response: • Analyze the information security environment and assess risk across systems and networks. • Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and lead incident response efforts. • Support data recovery activities following security breaches. • Develop automation scripts to track and respond to security incidents. • Perform vulnerability testing, risk assessments, and security audits. • Monitor security solutions using industry-standard evaluation criteria. Policy, Governance & Compliance: • Define, implement, and maintain corporate information security policies, standards, and procedures. • Ensure authorized system access by investigating improper access, revoking permissions, and reporting violations. • Assess compliance with regulatory standards such as PCI and GDPR. • Recommend improvements in legal, regulatory, technical, and security frameworks. • Maintain disaster recovery and data backup strategies. Collaboration & Enablement: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on authentication, authorization, encryption, and DLP solutions. • Work with business partners to identify and implement new data protection use cases. • Provide training and support to technical teams and end users on new security tools and features. • Deliver technical documentation, reports, and findings to leadership and stakeholders. • Promote security awareness through education, onboarding, and ongoing communications.
