Sr. Tableau Developer

Senior Tableau Developer Onsite - Maple Grove or Minneapolis, MN Contract Candidate must be local to St. Paul - Minneapolis Area $40-50/hr W2 - USC Only Responsibilties: Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards, visualizations, and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Data Modeling: Create and optimize data models for Tableau dashboards, ensuring scalability and performance. ETL & Data Prep: Work with SQL, Tableau Prep, or other ETL tools to prepare and integrate data from multiple sources. Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot, fine-tune, and optimize Tableau workbooks, calculations, extracts, and server performance. Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather requirements, understand business objectives, and deliver intuitive data visualizations tailored to end-user needs. Advanced Features: Utilize Tableau features such as Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, parameterization, actions, and extensions to build interactive solutions. Best Practices: Establish and enforce BI and data visualization best practices, ensuring consistency, usability, and scalability. Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance, technical expertise, and mentorship to junior developers and analysts. Data Governance: Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security. Required Skills & Qualifications 6+ years of proven hands-on experience in Tableau dashboard development. Strong proficiency in SQL for complex queries, joins, stored procedures, and optimization. Expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Online, and Tableau Prep. Solid understanding of BI principles, data modeling, and relational database concepts. Experience integrating Tableau with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, etc.). Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, R, or similar) for data analysis and automation (preferred). Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate raw data into clear business insights. Excellent communication skills to interact with business stakeholders and technical teams. Preferred Qualifications Tableau Desktop and/or Tableau Server certifications. Experience in enterprise-level Tableau deployments and server administration. Exposure to agile methodologies and modern CI/CD practices in BI development. Knowledge of other BI/analytics tools (Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Qlik) is a plus.
