Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite)

Role Overview
BEPC, Inc. is actively seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) β Data/ETL Engineer to join our clientβs Technology Operations Center in Plano, TX. This position is focused on data services reliability, system integration, and automation within the SRE organization.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ETL tools, SQL, and scripting (Python or Shell), as well as a strong foundation in AWS data services, data warehousing, and observability tools. This role is perfect for engineers who thrive on ensuring stability, performance, and automation across complex data systems.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Manage and support data pipelines, data warehousing, and system integrations within enterprise environments.
β’ Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve data system availability, scalability, and resilience.
β’ Design and manage ETL workflows using tools like Informatica, DataStage, or Talend.
β’ Develop and maintain Python or Shell scripts for process automation and incident prevention.
β’ Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Autosys job scheduling and orchestration workflows.
β’ Enhance and maintain data models and data warehousing operations for reliability and performance.
β’ Leverage observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace) to proactively detect and resolve issues.
β’ Collaborate with data engineering, SRE, and cloud teams to drive operational excellence.
β’ Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident retrospectives.
β’ Establish and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to measure system health.
β’ Drive DevOps automation initiatives to reduce manual tasks and enhance system uptime.
Qualifications
β’ Education: Bachelorβs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
β’ Experience:
β’ 5+ years in data engineering, data operations, or SRE roles.
β’ Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, or Talend.
β’ Strong SQL expertise for query writing, optimization, and data validation.
β’ Proficiency in Python or Shell scripting for automation.
β’ Experience managing job orchestration via Autosys or Apache Airflow.
β’ Deep understanding of SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, observability).
β’ Experience with AWS Cloud Services (S3, Glue, Lambda, RDS, Redshift).
β’ Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
β’ Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Certifications: Informatica, AWS Data, or ITIL Foundation certifications preferred.
β’ Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
β’ Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, Dynatrace).
β’ Exposure to Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
