SSO Engineer

Job#: 3024070 Job Description: Identity Integration Developer / SSO Engineer Location: Norfolk, VA Employment Type: Contract to Hire Contract Length: 6 months contract to hire (conversion based on performance) Pay: $55 - $65 /hr. Job Description: • Implement SAML and/or OIDC authentication in application codebases • Integrate with NIS IdPM (Ping) or equivalent enterprise IdP • Build and debug redirect flows, token validation, claim extraction, and role mapping • Update session, logout, and timeout behavior • Modify API authentication where applicable • Deprecate or gate legacy authentication paths • Support test, UAT, and production cutover for identity changes • Partner with Cyber/RMF to ensure controls and evidence are met Requirements: • Hands-on experience with SAML 2.0 and/or OIDC/OAuth2 • Experience integrating with enterprise IdPs (Ping, Okta, ADFS, Keycloak, Azure AD, etc.) • Strong application development experience in at least one of: • Java/Spring or • .NET/.NET Core or • Modern web stacks • Working knowledge of: • JWTs, claims, certificates, and token validation • HTTP, headers, redirects, and security middleware/filters • Experience modifying existing authentication flows in production systems • Comfortable troubleshooting SSO, cookies/sessions, and auth edge cases • Ability to hold and maintaince a clearance Apex Systems is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
