Supply Chain - Data Analyst 3 Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Supply Chain - Data Analyst for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be three months with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary: The main function of this role is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database, applying knowledge of database management systems. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: β€’ Work with senior management, technical, and client teams to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, and best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage, and analysis strategies. β€’ Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of the database to the management system or direct others in coding descriptions. β€’ Design, implement, automate, and maintain large-scale enterprise data ETL processes. β€’ Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes. β€’ Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications. β€’ Purpose of the Team: The team supports supply chain operations, focusing on distribution, transportation, and warehousing, with an emphasis on building tracking and reporting. β€’ Key Projects: Contribute to developing data tracking and reporting dashboards to provide operational insights for supply chain functions in distribution, transportation, and warehousing. The role may also support international shipping and weekly business reviews (WBR). β€’ Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm: The role involves 60-70% focused work on projects and 30-40% meetings. Initially, the meeting count is lower as the focus will be on building out data reporting structures. Qualifications: β€’ Years of Experience Required: 5-7 years of overall experience in the field. β€’ Degrees or Certifications Required: A degree in a field related to supply chain operations, trade functions, international trade, or data sciences. β€’ Best vs. Average: An ideal candidate has a strong technical reporting/data background and can build from scratch. Experience in data and analytics within transportation, warehouse, ordering, or manufacturing in the supply chain space is preferred. Experience with international trade, shipping, customs, or brokerage is highly desirable. β€’ Performance Indicators: Performance is assessed based on meeting project timelines and deliverables, and the quality of data reports. β€’ Minimum 5 years of experience with data analysis and synthesizing data using SQL, Tableau, or Power BI. β€’ Minimum 5 years of experience with supply chain operations. β€’ Minimum 5 years of experience collaborating with various stakeholders to gather and potentially present data. β€’ A bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required. β€’ 5-7 years of applicable experience required. Preferred: β€’ Experience with database technologies. β€’ Knowledge of the ETL process. β€’ Knowledge of at least one scripting language. β€’ Strong written and oral communication skills. β€’ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. β€’ Demonstrated history of success. β€’ Desire to work with data and help businesses make better data-driven decisions.
