Role description
Project Description:
β’ The Test Tools Developer/Integrator is a hands-on engineer who works on development and brings up/debugs "Test Automation" solutions (a combination of HW or SW) necessary to test/validate/measure/record a product feature or the product itself.
β’ The Test Tool Developer/Integrator reports Hierarchically to the Test Tools Coordinator Team Lead and functionally to the Test Tools Coordinator
β’ The Test Tools Developer/Integrator shall be in close contact with TIAT teams around the world to define the approach to follow for the automation of test cases.
β’ The Test Tool Developer/Integrator is part of the TIAT Team, and therefore, he is a services engineer who can be reached by several different team members (Validation, SysTest, SysIntTest, and Quality) requesting support. As part of his duties, the Test Tool Developer/Integrator shall follow up on the support request together with the "TIAT Team Leader" to prioritize activities.
β’ Below is a list of test tools (but not limited to) that Test Tool Developer/Integrator shall support:
β’ -System Validation test benches: closed loop HIL, reinjection HIL, system integration test bench, Calibration Test Bench, Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing Benches
β’ -DV/PV/EMC test benches
β’ -Vehicle rest bus simulation
β’ -Vehicle recording system, incl. vehicle fitout, ground truth reference system
β’ -Virtual validation toolsβSIL, virtual sensor models, etc.
β’ -Various injection/acquisition tools to input/collect output test data from a tested Product
β’ SW development for all of the above.
Responsibilities:
β’ Reviews requirements for Test automation provided by the project test teams (System Validation Team, Mechatronic Test Team, SW Test Team, depending on the Product Line strategy)
β’ Development of automation solutions following the customer standard architectures by having a round table discussion with other TIAT team members.
β’ HW procurement and inventory control
β’ HW and SW integration of test setups
β’ Shipment of equipment from or to other sites
β’ Contact standard suppliers in case their support is needed for the development of a tool.
β’ Create and update a basic L3 timing plan for "Automation Coverage" readiness.
β’ Provides estimations in terms of Automation development efforts and costs
β’ Keep the requester informed with the status/stage/blocking issues on the development of the automation solution.
β’ Reach the TIAT Team Lead/Test Tool Coordinator/Requester in case support is needed.
β’ Ensures quality and validation of the automation solution before it is released/deployed.
β’ Create documentation for the automation solution.
β’ Backup documentation and source code of the Automation solution, following Customer standards (SVN)
β’ Continuous identification of areas for improvement.
β’ Support the development, deployment, and support of benches at Customer locations in Troy, and off-site customer locations as needed
Mandatory Skills Description:
β’ Highly proven development experience in LabVIEW and TestStand.
β’ Highly proven Experience with programming languages (Python, C++, CAPL, etc.)
β’ Proven experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN)
β’ Proven experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, and switches.
β’ Experience with A2B & Analog Audio.
β’ Experience with design and development of "Testing Solutions."
β’ High degree of innovation and creativity.
β’ High level of motivation and work ethic with an emphasis on practical, hands-on work.
β’ Very good overall communication skills, goal-oriented mindset, and good interpersonal skills.
β’ International, collaborative, and proactive mindset.
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
β’ Experience with Linux OS.
β’ Experience with VECTOR CANOE.
β’ Experience in testing RF.
