Role description
Position Summary The Systems/Business Analyst III (Aveva PI System Engineer) supports enterprise operational data initiatives by delivering end-to-end solutions that integrate near real-time operational technology (OT) data into enterprise IT ecosystems. This role focuses on implementation, configuration, and optimization of the Aveva (OSIsoft) PI System, including Asset Framework (AF) modeling, analytics development, and visualization solutions. This position will support multiple capital projects involving integration of new generation site data into the Enterprise PI environment. The analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality data ingestion, analytics development, and data accessibility across enterprise platforms. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, implement, and support end-to-end Aveva PI System solutions to integrate near real-time OT data into enterprise systems. β€’ Develop and maintain PI Asset Framework (AF) models, analytics, and data structures to support operational reporting and business intelligence. β€’ Build and enhance data visualization dashboards using PI Vision and related visualization technologies. β€’ Support OT and IT data integration including real-time data connectivity, protocol configuration, and system interoperability. β€’ Configure, maintain, and optimize highly available server-side and front-end PI infrastructure. β€’ Support distribution of OT data to third-party applications and enterprise subsystems. β€’ Collaborate with engineering, operations, IT, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable data solutions. β€’ Participate in Agile development processes including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and project collaboration meetings. β€’ Develop and implement data management processes to improve data quality, reliability, and accessibility. β€’ Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and solution support for implemented systems. Required Qualifications β€’ Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Aveva (OSIsoft) PI System technologies and tools. β€’ Strong experience with PI Asset Framework (AF) development, analytics modeling, and data architecture. β€’ Hands-on experience with PI Vision or similar visualization platforms. β€’ Strong understanding of real-time data integration, OT/IT systems integration, and communication protocols. β€’ Experience configuring and supporting high availability PI server infrastructure and front-end applications. β€’ Strong analytical, business intelligence, and problem-solving skills. β€’ Experience working with enterprise data integration and system interoperability. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Scripting and programming experience with C# and/or Python. β€’ Experience with Aveva Connect or cloud-based data integration technologies. β€’ Knowledge of IT/OT networking, communication protocols, and server hardware/software configuration. β€’ Electric and gas utility industry experience. β€’ Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. The position follows Xcel Energy’s hybrid work model with onsite collaboration required three days per week. Pay Rate Range 60 - 80 USD hourly
