Systems/Business Analyst II (Requisition 1699)
Location: Denver, CO (Preferred) or Minneapolis/Roseville, MN
Duration: 8-Month Contract (Potential extension through HyperCare)
Schedule: Full-Time, Core Hours (~7:30 AM β 4:30 PM)
Work Type: Hybrid (based on team needs)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Systems/Business Analyst II to support Xcel Energyβs transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, with a strong focus on master data readiness and data governance. This role sits within the Technology Services organization and plays a key part in preparing large-scale data sets for final design, testing, and HyperCare phases of the SAP transformation.
This is a highly data-centric, internally focused role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze and manage large data sets related to capital projects, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
β’ Review and interpret historical and forecasted data (2024β2026)
β’ Map data hierarchies, field attributes, and master data into defined frameworks
β’ Extract, transform, and validate data from SAP and other ERP systems
β’ Work with Excel-based data files stored in SharePoint; upload and maintain processed outputs
β’ Support mock data design, testing cycles, and data validation activities
β’ Assist in building and documenting process maps and data flows
β’ Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with governance standards
Required Qualifications
β’ 5β7 years of experience in:
β’ Data governance
β’ Systems analysis
β’ Master data management
β’ Strong experience working with large, complex data sets
β’ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, multi-column analysis, data manipulation)
β’ Hands-on experience with SAP ECC or other large ERP systems (Oracle, etc.)
β’ Understanding of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and master data strategies
β’ Experience extracting and working with ERP data
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA transformations or large ERP implementations
β’ Familiarity with SAP Master Data Online (MDO) tool
β’ Background in utilities or large, matrixed organizations
β’ Ability to create and interpret process maps
β’ Experience with SharePoint-based data workflows
Soft Skills
β’ Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
β’ Excellent organizational and time management skills
β’ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
β’ Problem-solving mindset with analytical thinking
β’ Comfortable working in a low-touch, highly independent environment

β’ Collaborates with SAP Change & Project Readiness teams
β’ Works alongside internal stakeholders including data analysts and project partners
β’ No direct reports; individual contributor role
β’ Fully internal-facing (no customer interaction)
Interview Process
β’ Format: Microsoft Teams (Video)
β’ Structure: One panel interview (30β45 minutes)
β’ Timeline: Interviews targeted for early May
β’ Decision: Expected shortly after interviews to support onboarding before June
