Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Grand Rapids, MI that is seeking a Tableau BI Developer. This role will build and strengthen IT capabilities to support client's partners in the Claims and Insurance Space. We are in the process of building a new IT department to support these goals. The primary goals of this initiative are:
• Stabilization - Establish foundational IT operations to ensure system reliability and business continuity
• Growth Enablement - Build scalable infrastructure and capabilities to support business expansion
• MSP Transition - Gradually disentangle from current Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and bring key IT functions in-house
Responsibilities
• Continue development and enhancement of the existing Tableau-based BI and reporting platform
• Collaborate closely with the Data Architect to design and implement meaningful data visualizations
• Leverage the enterprise data warehouse for building reliable and accurate reporting solutions
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable reports and dashboards
Key Focus Areas
• MGA/TPA Consolidation: We are consolidating Managing General Agents (MGAs) and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) across multiple insurance lines to streamline operations and improve service delivery
• Affiliate Integration: Supporting affiliate entities that provide services to TPAs, ensuring they are aligned with the broader IT strategy and standards
• Insurance & Claims: Deliver robust IT support for both new and existing business operations, ensuring smooth onboarding into the environment
• TPAs: Provide tailored support to help maintain day-to-day operations while assisting in the long-term transition into the centralized ecosystem
Requirements
• Strong Tableau and SQL expertise
• Proficient in designing, developing, and optimizing dashboards
• Advanced SQL skills - capable of querying large datasets and optimizing complex queries
• Insurance industry experience is essential - must understand business workflows, data relationships, and reporting needs specific to the insurance domain
• Ability to grasp the -why- behind reports - must understand the business context, not just the technical requirements
Team Collaboration
• Will be supported by a Data Architect and a database developer
• Expected to work cross-functionally to align reporting with both business goals and data architecture
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
