Tableau Dashboard Developer (Data Analyst / Report Writer II) Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Duration: 12+ Month Contract (Potential for Extension) Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST We're seeking an experienced Tableau Dashboard Developer to join a high-impact Business Intelligence team supporting the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA). This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional who enjoys transforming complex business requirements into intuitive dashboards and actionable insights. In this role, you'll partner with Product Owners, developers, business stakeholders, and Data Warehouse teams to design, develop, and implement enterprise reporting solutions that drive business decisions. You'll also play an important role in knowledge transfer and mentoring internal staff. What You'll Do: • Design, develop, and implement advanced Tableau dashboards and visualizations • Gather business requirements and translate them into reporting and BI solutions • Write complex SQL queries to analyze and transform data • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality reporting solutions • Perform data analysis, code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting • Develop documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams • Present dashboards and reporting solutions to business stakeholders • Follow Agile methodologies and SDLC best practices throughout development Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience developing Tableau dashboards, including Tableau Prep • 5+ years of advanced SQL experience • 5+ years of Business Intelligence, reporting, or data analysis experience • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data integration, data quality, and dimensional modeling • Experience with BI visualization tools such as Tableau, SSRS, or Qlik • Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or similar relational databases • Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments • Working knowledge of Python • Experience using Git, Bitbucket, or TFS Preferred Qualifications: • Experience supporting State, Federal, or Local Government organizations • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, Visio, Project, PowerPoint) What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: • Passionate about data visualization and analytics • Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders • Skilled at translating business needs into technical solutions • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills • Able to work independently while collaborating across technical and business teams • An excellent communicator with strong problem-solving abilities
