Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tableau Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-impact Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions. This role requires deep expertise in Tableau development, strong SQL skills, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into intuitive data visualizations.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders in product, marketing, finance, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Tableau Dashboard Development
β’ Design, develop, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards and data visualizations.
β’ Build scalable, performance-optimized dashboards using best practices in data modeling and visualization design.
β’ Develop interactive, user-friendly reporting solutions for executive and operational stakeholders.
β’ Implement row-level security, calculated fields, parameters, LOD expressions, and advanced Tableau functionality.
Data Analysis & Engineering Support
β’ Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and prepare large datasets from relational databases or cloud data warehouses.
β’ Develop and optimize data sources for Tableau (live and extract connections).
β’ Ensure performance tuning of dashboards and underlying queries.
β’ Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.
Business Insights & Stakeholder Collaboration
β’ Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
β’ Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
β’ Present findings and dashboards to both technical and non-technical audiences.
β’ Proactively identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities within data.
Governance & Best Practices
β’ Maintain data quality standards and documentation.
β’ Establish and enforce Tableau development best practices and governance standards.
β’ Support version control, dashboard publishing, and Tableau Server/Cloud administration tasks.
β’ Mentor junior analysts or developers when applicable.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
β’ 5β8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Tableau Development roles.
β’ Advanced expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud.
β’ Strong SQL skills, including:
β’ Complex joins
β’ Window functions
β’ Common Table Expressions (CTEs)
β’ Query performance tuning
β’ Experience working with large-scale datasets in cloud data warehouses (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP environments).
β’ Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema).
β’ Experience building executive-level dashboards and KPI scorecards.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with additional BI tools (Power BI, Looker, MicroStrategy, QuickSight).
β’ Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics.
β’ Experience in financial services, fintech, e-commerce, healthcare, or other data-intensive industries.
β’ Exposure to predictive analytics or basic statistical modeling.
β’ Experience implementing Tableau governance frameworks and enterprise BI strategy.
