

Talend Snowflake Engineer
Title: Talend Snowflake Engineer

Role Description:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Talend Snowflake Engineer with deep expertise in Talend and Snowflake to support moderately complex technical information systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting ETL pipelines, performing data analysis, and ensuring high-quality, compliant solutions that meet business needs. This role includes working on data warehousing, automation, and supporting both development and production environments.
Minimum Requirements:
• 12+ years of experience in ETL and data-related roles
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Talend ETL tool
• 7+ years of experience in SQL and Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW)
• Strong experience with Talend and Snowflake (or other cloud-based tools)
• Proficient in connecting and posting data via REST APIs using Talend
• Solid knowledge of relational databases including Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, and SQL Server
• Experience with Talend administration: remote engines, JVM issues, upgrades, and Talend Management Console
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data profiling and usage analysis
• Willingness to provide production support during weekdays and weekends in EST hours
Preferred Requirements:
• Experience with data modeling (both logical and physical models)
• Familiarity with PL/SQL
• Experience in healthcare or life sciences environments
• Exposure to automation strategies for data access, transformation, and movement
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop ETL components and services in Talend according to business specifications
• Collaborate with DBAs for database design and implementation
• Conduct detailed system documentation, including requirements, test plans, and user manuals
• Perform unit, system, and validation testing
• Support business partners with training and issue resolution
• Provide second-line support for deployed systems
• Ensure ETL batch jobs meet SLAs and support BI reporting requirements
• Monitor ETL processes and conduct corrective actions when needed
• Design automation for data access, transformation, and system integration
