Taleo SMS Developer

Job Title: Taleo SMS Developer Location: Chicago, IL – Onsite (5 days a week) Job Summary We are looking for a Taleo SMS Developer to design, build, and support SMS-based communication and notification solutions integrated with Oracle Taleo. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Taleo (Recruiting/Onboarding), APIs or TCC, and SMS gateways/platforms (e.g., Twilio, Sinch, etc.), and will work closely with Talent Acquisition and IT to improve candidate communication and automation. Key Responsibilities Taleo–SMS Integration & Development • Design, develop, and maintain SMS integrations between Oracle Taleo and external SMS platforms. • Configure and manage Taleo triggers, events, and templates to send SMS notifications for status changes, interview reminders, and candidate updates. • Develop and optimize APIs, web services, or TCC-based integrations to support SMS workflows. Configuration & Customization • Configure Taleo Recruiting/Onboarding fields, templates, and correspondence to support SMS use cases. • Build and maintain rules, filters, and mappings to route the right messages to the right candidates at the right time. Support & Troubleshooting • Monitor SMS delivery, error logs, and integration jobs; identify and resolve issues in a timely manner. • Provide Level 2/3 support for SMS-related incidents in Taleo, working with vendors and internal teams as needed. Collaboration & Documentation • Work with HR/Talent Acquisition, IT, and vendors to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs. • Create and maintain technical documentation, integration specs, mapping documents, and runbooks. • Participate in testing (unit, integration, UAT) and support production releases. Required Skills & Experience • 3–6+ years of experience in application development or HR systems integration. • Hands-on experience with Oracle Taleo (Recruiting and/or Onboarding). • Experience with SMS platforms/gateways (e.g., Twilio, Sinch, Infobip, etc.) and building integrations. • Strong skills in APIs/web services (REST/SOAP) and/or Taleo Connect Client (TCC). • Good understanding of Taleo configuration (fields, templates, correspondences, candidate notifications). • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, or similar). • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, especially around integrations and message flows. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work onsite in Chicago with cross-functional teams.
