Role description
Tax Automation Business Analyst Whitehall Resources require a Tax Automation Business Analyst to work with a key client on a 6 month initial contract. • Outside IR35. • This role will require 1 full week on site in Scotland initially, followed by occasional site visits. Tax Automation Business Analyst About the Role We are looking for a Tax Automation Business Analyst to work closely with a corporate tax team to improve forecasting models, automate manual processes, and introduce modern automation tools. This is a hands-on role embedded within the tax team, working directly with tax specialists to identify inefficiencies and implement automation solutions. The focus is on improving tax forecasting models, streamlining processes, and leveraging automation and AI tools to enhance efficiency and insight. Key Responsibilities • Work alongside the tax team to improve tax forecasting models • Identify and automate manual tax and finance processes • Use automation tools and AI assistants (e.g., Claude, Workato, low-code platforms) • Improve data flows into forecasting models and reporting • Translate business needs into practical automation solutions • Support the team in adopting new tools and improved workflows Experience Required We are open to candidates from tax, finance, or transformation backgrounds provided they have strong automation capability. Ideal experience includes: • Experience in tax, finance, or financial modelling • Process automation or workflow optimisation • Strong Excel and data modelling skills • Experience improving forecasting or analytical models • Ability to work directly with business teams to implement solutions Nice to Have • Corporate tax experience • Experience with automation platforms (e.g., Workato, Power Automate, RPA tools) • Exposure to AI productivity tools • Finance transformation or shared services experience Ideal Candidate Background This role could suit someone from: • Tax Technology / Tax Transformation • Finance Automation Consulting • Finance Transformation • Data & Automation Analyst within Finance • Business Analyst with strong automation capability
