Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled TCL Developer / PIX Metadata Utility Specialist to support LA Countyβs Information Systems Advisory Body (ISAB) in enhancing and integrating the Common Metamodel & Data Model environment. This position requires deep experience with TCL scripting in data ingestion, transformation, and validation workflows, as well as hands-on work with metadata management tools such as PIX Metadata Utility (PIX MU).
Core Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and optimize TCL scripts for ingesting and transforming justice-sector data formats (FRL, VRL, HRL, HL7, XML, JSON).
β’ Integrate scripts with PIX Metadata Utility to manage and validate metadata structures.
β’ Collaborate with the Senior Data Modeler to ensure scripts align with NIEM-aligned RDF/SPARQL models.
β’ Perform end-to-end testing and debugging of TCL-based ingestion pipelines.
β’ Support County technical staff in deployment and troubleshooting activities.
β’ Maintain documentation of scripts, data transformations, and integration workflows.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 7+ years of professional software development experience.
β’ 5+ years of experience in TCL scripting for enterprise or public-sector data integration.
β’ 3+ years of hands-on experience with PIX Metadata Utility or similar metadata management platforms.
β’ Demonstrated experience working with NIEM or other standards-based data exchange models.
β’ Proven track record integrating justice-sector data formats (FRL, VRL, HRL, HL7, XML, JSON).
β’ Strong understanding of data validation, error handling, and QA processes in public-sector systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with semantic technologies (RDF, SPARQL, Apache Jena) is a plus.
β’ Prior work on justice/public safety data integration projects in a County, State, or Federal environment.
β’ Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Google Maps for collaboration and reporting.
