Role description
Role: Tech Business Analyst (UI/Data Mapping) Location: McLean, VA (100% On-site - Local Candidates Only) Compensation: $53/hr (W2) Duration: 6 Months ( Apply local candidate to McLean, VA only Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Tech Business Analyst with 8–10 years of experience to lead the modernization of legacy system interfaces. This role requires a unique blend of legacy analysis (CICS/IMS) and modern UI design coordination. You will map data from mainframe environments to Postgres databases and work closely with UX teams to design intuitive front-end solutions. Key Responsibilities • Legacy Analysis: Analyze existing CICS screen flows and IMS database elements to map them to modern business requirements. • UI/UX Coordination: Design user interfaces based on business processes, coordinating directly with UX teams for implementation. • Data Mapping: Analyze Postgres databases to determine data display logic and define fetching rules based on complex business logic. • Agile Management: Create detailed Jira stories, define acceptance criteria, provide developer clarifications, and verify test results. • Stakeholder Alignment: Working closely with the Product Owner (PO) to align with Program Increment (PI) goals and present concepts using advanced Excel/SQL. • Project Tracking: Coordinate multiple workstreams and ensure all action items are tracked to closure in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications • 8–10 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst. • Technical Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills and sound knowledge of relational databases (Postgres preferred). • UI/UX Design: Proven experience in UI design and translating business processes into wireframe concepts. • Legacy Knowledge: Familiarity with Mainframe CICS/IMS (highly useful for mapping tasks). • Agile Tools: Expert-level experience with Jira and Agile methodologies (PI Planning). • Documentation: Strong Excel skills for data modeling and requirement presentation.
