Work Type: Hybrid – Houston, TX 77002
Work Schedule: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension
Job Overview:
Under general supervision, the Technical Analyst will support business needs analysis and data/analytical solution development.
This role blends technical expertise with business analysis to design, test, and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency through advanced analytics.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in working with large spatial and temporal datasets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze business processes and translate requirements into technical/analytical specifications.
Design and develop scripts, APIs, and automation tools for advanced analysis.
Build and maintain data pipelines for analytics.
Collaborate with stakeholders and data scientists to define problems, document solutions, and support implementation.
Develop/improve reports and visualizations to communicate insights and metrics.
Ensure data quality and reliability for analytics and insights.
Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT.
Prepare technical documentation and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Apply geospatial analysis techniques and tools for location-based decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in a hybrid technical/business analyst role.
Technical Skills Required:
Programming & Scripting: Python, Java, SQL, R
Databases & Analytics: Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DataStax/Astra DB, Data modeling, ETL
Cloud & DevOps: AWS (S3, SageMaker)
Tools & Frameworks: Git, Jira, Confluence, PyCharm, Notebooks
Machine Learning & Deep Learning: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow
GenAI/LLMs: Hands-on experience with generative AI tools and frameworks
Geospatial Tools: ArcGIS, QGIS, CARTO, or Python geospatial libraries
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with large-scale datasets and advanced data mining.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Self-driven, collaborative, and customer-focused mindset.
Experience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams.
