Technical Analyst (Transportation Systems Expert)

Job Title: Technical Analyst (Transportation Systems Expert) Location: Fully Remote Contract Type & Duration: 4-6 month contract Start Date: Immediately Hours: Flexible schedule with weekend availability required during deployments Overview: Building API-driven data integrations between their third party software SQL Server database, building new database structures (tables, stored procedures, views), and reporting in SSRS, Excel. • Looking for a technical candidate, ideally with some background in the transportation industry, working with transportation data to understand the business context. • Needs strong database experience - SQL Server. Jeff has already designed the existing tables, schemas, stored procedures, data validation checks; however, this is not a project-based role, but someone who can support them long-term, spin up new databases and database structures. • Should have API development experience - they are primarily using Python for API builds - to integrate software with their database. Existing integrations with 2 3rd party vendors, but future could require internal integrations from one application to another as well. • Will also be responsible for testing APIs using Postman (additional API testing tools are acceptable). • Reporting today is primarily in SSRS - have 17 existing reports they need to rewrite. Other groups are using Tableau/Power BI. Would be a nice to have skill. • Should have experience in views, semantic layers for reporting. • Consumers of the reports vary - telematics team, routers, drivers, financial groups, reports right to customers (i.e. Whole Foods). • Both scheduled and ad-hoc reports, all batch. • Candidates he's been receiving have been heavy on the QA side, not builders. Must Have: • SQL Server database development (building schemas, tables, stored procedures, views) • T-SQL • Python (for APIs and data cleaning) • API development (integrations) • API testing (Postman or similar) • Data visualization/reports development (SSRS) • Transportation domain experience (would consider a candidate without) Nice to Have: • Samsara or OT1 • Tableau/Power BI
