Title: Technical Business Analyst 2
Location: Portland, OR (hybrid for 3-6 months, then fully remote)
Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)
Pay Range: $47.74 - $58.06 per hour (exact pay range varies by candidate location)
The role of the Technical Business Analyst is to perform interviews and research to determine IT business requirements and translate them into specifications for complex technical projects.
Position Responsibilities:
β’ Develop business process models and documentation.
β’ Develop, define, and build technology bias business cases that will enable business and technology change.
β’ Implement workflow across the organization.
β’ Recommend technology solutions to improve business decision-making with a focus on the core systems, technology strategies and standards.
β’ Conduct analysis of business issues and challenges.
β’ Participate in business process and technology initiatives to improve business performance.
β’ Act as liaison and participate in defining technology solutions to solve complex, multidisciplinary business problems with long-term implications.
β’ Document functional specifications, conversions, upgrades, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflow.
β’ Facilitate group meetings.
β’ Work with end-users to define and executing test scenarios and ensure appropriate end user training.
β’ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients across all levels of the organization.
β’ Develop and review audit and control processes to facilitate optimal service performance & operational integrity.
β’ Deal with workload peaks without compromising standards.
β’ Develop and support a knowledge management culture within the organization.
β’ Provide a sustainable IT infrastructure by supplying cross training and functional documentation.
β’ Balance technology and business issues as well as communicating with both technology and business experts.
β’ Provide support to the Infrastructure Systems Analyst to assist in identifying gaps in infrastructure services
β’ Understand the relationship between an application and the technical services it relies on.
β’ Define an application's portfolio of dependent services and technical needs.
β’ Identify the difference between an application and dependent software.
β’ Work with stakeholders to gather requirements geared towards upgrading to current technology and migrating to new infrastructure.
β’ Audit existing source(s) of record for application information to determine validity of data and make recommendations to correct.
β’ Negotiate priorities and resolve requirement conflicts among various stakeholders.
β’ Develop data flow models to define interdependencies between other applications.
Position Requirements:
Education & Corresponding Experience
β’ A bachelor's or associate degree in business administration, organizational development, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
β’ 7 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor's degree.
β’ 9 years of experience is required with an applicable associate degree.
β’ 11 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
β’ Experience: Minimum of 5 years in organizational change management or a related field, with proven experience managing change during system implementations.
β’ Industry Knowledge: Background in working within a corporate, technology, or project-driven environment, with experience leading large-scale, complex change initiatives.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
β’ Change Management Frameworks: In-depth knowledge of change management principles and methodologies, such as Prosci ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Model, or similar.
β’ Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience integrating change management into project plans. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Project, Asana, or Jira.
β’ Data Analysis and Reporting: Ability to interpret and utilize data (e.g., user engagement metrics, survey results) to assess change progress and adapt strategies as needed.
β’ Technology Familiarity: Understanding of IT system concepts and their impact on business processes to facilitate effective change communication.
Preferred Skills & Experience
β’ Certifications: Certification in change management (e.g., Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Prosci Certification).
β’ System Implementation Expertise: Direct experience managing change for system rollouts, such as ERP, CRM, or other enterprise platforms.
β’ Advanced Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skills to manage resistance and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
β’ Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and Lean Agile.
