Job Title: Technical Business Analyst – Insurance Domain
Work Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Boston / Waltham, MA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: 12 months (subject to extension)
Experience Requirement (MUST):
• 12+ years overall experience as a Business Analyst
• Minimum 5–7 years working in the Insurance domain (MANDATORY)
• Candidates without insurance domain experience will not be considered
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst with deep expertise in the Insurance domain to analyze business processes, drive system improvements, and translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, and cross-functional partners across insurance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
• Analyze end-to-end insurance business processes and systems
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities
• Support initiatives across policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, and customer service systems
• Recommend system and process improvements aligned with regulatory and business requirements
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements
• Create functional specifications, use cases, process flows, and data mappings
• Ensure requirements are clear, complete, testable, and traceable
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as liaison between business users, IT, product owners, developers, QA, and vendors
• Support teams through the full SDLC
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, UAT, and defect resolution
Documentation & Knowledge Management
• Develop and maintain BRDs, FRDs, process flow diagrams, user guides, and training materials
• Ensure documentation meets internal standards and insurance regulatory guidelines
Mandatory Skills (Non-Negotiable)
• 12+ years as a Business Analyst
• 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in the Insurance domain
• Experience working with multiple enterprise systems and integrated platforms
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud (MANDATORY)
• Strong experience documenting functional specifications and end-to-end process flows
• Excellent communication skills – ability to represent in business and senior leadership meetings
Required Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
Preferred Skills
• Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall environments
• Working knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server
• Exposure to .NET, Java, or Salesforce platforms
• Experience with Visio or BPMN tools
• Familiarity with BI, reporting, and data analysis tools
• UAT support and QA collaboration experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
