Technical Business Analyst - Mobile

Our client is seeking a remote Technical Business Analyst with experience and understanding of mobile development projects for a long term contract engagement. You must be currently located in OH, MI, IL, CO, TN, MT, MA, RI, IN, or FL in order to be considered. Technical Business Analyst – Mobile Platform Transformation Overview We are seeking a senior-level Technical Business Analyst to play a key role in modernizing a complex mobile application ecosystem. This position focuses on analyzing legacy mobile solutions and guiding their transition to a unified, cross-platform architecture. You will work at the intersection of product, engineering, and architecture—translating existing technical behavior into clear, structured requirements that enable scalable, future-ready development. This role requires strong mobile technical fluency, advanced analytical thinking, and hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools to accelerate discovery, documentation, and delivery. You will also act as a mentor, helping elevate technical analysis practices across product and delivery teams. Key Responsibilities Cross-Team Collaboration • Act as the primary connector between architecture, engineering, and product teams to ensure technical intent aligns with business priorities. • Facilitate alignment across stakeholders during platform modernization initiatives. Requirements & Backlog Design • Structure and maintain complex Jira backlogs by defining Epics, Features, and User Stories that reflect both current functionality and future-state design. • Translate deeply embedded business logic into clear, implementation-ready requirements and acceptance criteria. AI-Enabled Analysis • Use AI tools and LLMs to assist with reverse engineering existing mobile codebases, identifying functional rules, edge cases, and dependencies. • Continuously refine prompt strategies and workflows to improve the accuracy and usefulness of AI-generated outputs. Technical Translation • Convert extracted logic into clear functional and technical documentation using tools such as Jira and Confluence. • Ensure requirements are consumable by both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders. Estimation & Planning Support • Provide high-level sizing and effort estimates to support roadmap planning and delivery forecasting. • Partner with technical leadership to support resourcing and sequencing decisions. Accessibility & Quality • Define comprehensive acceptance criteria with a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusive design standards (e.g., WCAG compliance). • Ensure each backlog item meets a strict “ready for development” standard before implementation begins. Validation & Enablement • Lead working sessions with product owners and business users to validate requirements and confirm functional accuracy. • Coach and support other analysts and product team members on advanced technical analysis and documentation techniques. Required Experience & Skills • Strong understanding of modern mobile development concepts, including iOS and Android architectures and declarative UI patterns. • Hands-on experience or deep familiarity with cross-platform mobile frameworks (e.g., shared business logic or UI layers). • Advanced proficiency using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) for code analysis, documentation, and feature discovery. • Extensive experience managing complex backlogs and roadmaps in Jira and Confluence. • Proven ability to translate complex technical behavior into clear business and system requirements. • Experience defining and validating mobile accessibility requirements. • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify inconsistencies across platforms and recommend unified solutions. • Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools (Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365, GitHub, and similar platforms). Education • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
