Technical Business Analyst β AWS Migration Programme
Location: London or Edinburgh
Contract: 6 months (with likelihood of extension)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (1β2 days per week in office)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale cloud transformation programme. This role will focus on bridging the gap between business and technical teams during the migration of a suite of microservices-based applications from an on-premise cloud environment to AWS public cloud, alongside deployments into OpenShift where required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of cloud architecture and migration strategies, combined with excellent analytical and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements for large-scale cloud migration initiatives.
β’ Support the migration of applications from on-premise environments to AWS, ensuring alignment with business goals.
β’ Translate requirements into high-level (HLD) and low-level design (LLD) documentation, working closely with architects and engineering teams.
β’ Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
β’ Work across teams to understand and document microservices-based architectures and their migration paths.
β’ Provide insight into AWS environments, including EKS, ECS, and OpenShift, to support requirement definition and solution alignment.
β’ Assist in AWS landing zone planning and governance considerations.
β’ Support cost modelling and commercial analysis, including understanding AWS pricing structures and optimisation opportunities.
β’ Contribute to workshops, stakeholder meetings, and programme governance activities.
Key Skills & Experience
β’ Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst within large-scale transformation or migration programmes.
β’ Strong understanding of application migration to AWS from on-premise environments.
β’ Experience working with microservices-based applications.
β’ Good working knowledge of:
β’ AWS services
β’ EKS and/or ECS
β’ OpenShift environments
β’ Experience producing or supporting HLD and LLD documentation.
β’ Familiarity with AWS cost modelling and financial considerations (desirable).
β’ Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
β’ Experience working within Agile or structured delivery frameworks.
Desirable Skills
β’ Knowledge of AWS Kiro (or similar AWS tools/capabilities).
β’ Exposure to cloud governance, DevOps practices, and infrastructure concepts.
β’ Relevant certifications in business analysis or cloud technologies.
