Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Developer to support a system migration project involving legacy scripts, programs, and data processes written in Python, R, and SQL. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing existing code, understanding business logic, and migrating it into a new system environment while ensuring accuracy, performance, and continuity.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong programming ability, analytical thinking, and the capability to work with complex data workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze existing legacy system scripts and processes developed in Python, R, and SQL
• Understand business logic embedded within current programs and workflows
• Migrate and rewrite code into the new target system/platform
• Validate and test migrated scripts to ensure functional accuracy
• Identify gaps, issues, and dependencies during migration
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders for requirement clarification
• Optimize and refactor code for improved performance and maintainability
• Document migration approach, code changes, and technical solutions
• Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during transition phase
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience in Python, R, and SQL
• Proven experience working with data processing scripts and automation workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to interpret existing code and reverse-engineer logic
• Experience in data migration or system migration projects (preferred)
• Good understanding of data structures, ETL concepts, and scripting
• Strong debugging and code validation skills
• Ability to work independently and deliver under tight timelines
• Strong communication skills to interact with technical and functional teams
