Technical Lead

Client of TTI (TAJ Technologies, Inc.) JOB TITLE: Senior Java Backend Engineer / Technical Lead LOCATION: Remote DURATION OF PROJECT: 8 months or longer with possible extensions PRIMARY PURPOSE: To lead a team in the design, development, maintenance, testing and debugging of software; to formulate/define system scope and objectives for assigned projects; to devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems; to prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written; to be responsible for quality assurance reviews; may be responsible for project completion and user satisfaction; and to provide guidance and training to assigned team. Technical Core: Senior Java Expertise: Minimum 5-years experience in backend development using Java with a focus on building scalable RESTful APIs. Database Proficiency: Strong experience with MariaDB for primary production support, plus a solid background in SQL Server for cross-system data management and querying. Legacy & Integration Support: Ability to maintain and troubleshoot existing backend jobs written in PHP. React Knowledge: Familiarity with React to collaborate effectively with frontend teams and ensure seamless API integration within the web application. Azure DevOps (ADO) Mastery: Proven ability to manage the CI/CD pipeline, specifically creating and releasing JAR files within Azure. Remote Troubleshooting: Experience using Remote Desktop (RDP) and terminal services to access, diagnose, and resolve issues on remote systems. SDLC Management: Deep understanding of Agile ceremonies and workflows. ADO Storyboards: Experience managing tasks, tracking progress, and updating documentation specifically using Azure DevOps. RESPONSIBILITIES: Determines the impact of new programs on and ensures their compatibility with existing system operations. Oversee development of system specifications through interaction with business users and sponsors; determines the feasibility of the resulting projects; and displays strong depth of knowledge in specific business subject areas. Assists in projecting software and hardware requirements. Oversee design, development, maintenance, testing and debugging of software ensuring Sedgwick software development lifecycle (SDLC) guidelines are followed. Formulates/defines project scope and objectives. Leads the development, modification, and maintenance of software to meet company needs and user suggestions. Prepares program documentation including administrator and end user help documents. Directs other analyst/programmers; assigns, prioritizes and monitors workload. Provides guidance and training to team. Prepare status reports for department managers. Ensures successful completion of projects in conformance to project goals and requirements. Ensure proactive and cooperative relationships exist within the project team; remains accessible to project team members. Keeps up to date with technological changes and direction.
