We specialize in industries where local execution matters, starting with automotive OEMs and extending to adjacent verticals. Today, our software supports localized advertising and shopper engagement at scale, powering hundreds of millions in media and incentive-driven promotions annually.
As we grow, Onit is transforming our custom solutions into a scalable and configurable SaaS platform while continuing to service existing clients. Our mission is to make Trade Promotion Management efficient, automated, measurable and increasingly effective across all advertising partners and marketing channels.
About the Role
As our Technical Lead, you will sit at the intersection of engineering execution, technical strategy, and client engagement. Youβll drive solution design, lead development teams, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure we deliver robust, scalable systems that meet business needs.
While you wonβt be expected to wear every hat, you should have the technical versatility and leadership skills to oversee project execution, guide architectural decisions, and serve as a trusted advisor both internally and with clients.
What Youβll Do
Engineering Leadership
β’ Guide the technical execution of projects, from architecture to deployment
β’ Lead and mentor developers, ensuring quality and accountability across deliverables
β’ Translate business requirements into technical implementation plans
β’ Partner with Project Management to estimate LOE, assign resources, and maintain timelines
Architecture & DevOps Oversight
β’ Design scalable, secure, and reliable systems across client environments
β’ Define and implement best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and failover
β’ Collaborate with the CTO on infrastructure upgrades and platform evolution
β’ Vet new tools and vendors to support engineering efficiency and scale
Client & Project Support
β’ Act as a technical point of contact for major accounts
β’ Participate in discovery sessions and solution design with clients
β’ Field technical questions, clarify scope, and provide input on strategic planning
β’ Support Account Management and Project Management teams in delivery and escalation scenarios
Optional Based on Experience
β’ Product Ownership: Influence roadmap and feature set of our configurable SaaS platform
β’ QA Oversight: Implement or oversee QA frameworks and test automation pipelines
β’ UI/UX Input: Collaborate with designers to bring intuitive, usable interfaces to life
What Weβre Looking For
β’ 5+ years of experience in software development, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role
β’ Strong knowledge of system architecture, web application frameworks, and cloud infrastructure
β’ Proficiency with the LAMP stack and MVC frameworks
β’ Experience with AWS products (S3, EC2, etc.)
β’ Experience leading engineering teams in a client-facing or agency environment
β’ Excellent communication skills, able to navigate between technical and non-technical audiences
β’ Proficient in estimating development effort and managing technical delivery
β’ Bonus: Experience with SaaS product development, QA automation, or UI/UX prototyping
