Role description
Job Title: Technical Lead / Solution Architect Location: Open to Hybrid in Vienna, VA, Winchester, VA or Pensacola, FL or can be REMOTE Type: Long Term Contract Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Solution Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of a mission-critical enterprise platform focused on release certification, governance, quality engineering, and operational readiness. This role will be responsible for defining end-to-end architecture across cloud, data, integration, security, analytics, and AI domains while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly resilient solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud-native platforms, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and large-scale system integrations, along with the ability to influence technical strategy and drive complex transformation initiatives across the organization. Responsibilities • Lead the overall technical architecture, design, and implementation strategy for the Cloud Core Release Certification Hub. • Define the platform's application, integration, data, analytics, security, governance, and AI architecture patterns. • Establish the canonical data model supporting releases, requirements, test cases, test executions, defects, evidence artifacts, approvals, readiness decisions, and audit records. • Design and govern integrations with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Oracle platforms, Zafin, defect management systems, identity providers, and test data management solutions. • Partner with engineering teams to establish implementation patterns, coding standards, API standards, observability requirements, and DevSecOps practices. • Conduct architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical decision-making sessions across multiple workstreams. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, architects, data engineers, AI engineers, and DevOps practitioners. • Collaborate with Product Owners, TPMs, QE leaders, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with certification and governance objectives. • Drive platform scalability, operational readiness, resiliency, security, and maintainability. • Support the creation of technical roadmaps, architecture artifacts, design documentation, and implementation plans. • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve release certification, test automation, analytics, and AI-enabled decision making. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field. • 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years operating as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership role. • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale platforms with multiple integrations, large data volumes, and cross-functional stakeholders. • Strong experience with cloud-native architecture, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and enterprise integration patterns. • Experience designing enterprise data models, analytics solutions, and reporting platforms. • Deep understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and modern software delivery practices. • Experience implementing security controls including RBAC, authentication, authorization, audit logging, and compliance requirements. • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, telemetry, and operational support strategies. • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting architecture and technical strategies to leadership teams. • Experience leading technical teams through complex enterprise transformation initiatives.
