About The Role
Our client, a leading organization in the insurance and financial services industry, is seeking a Technology Engineer to support enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) platforms and infrastructure. This role sits within a large-scale enterprise technology environment focused on delivering data-driven insights and ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable BI systems.
This position is ideal for a systems administration or platform engineering professional with experience supporting enterprise BI tools across both on-premises and cloud environments. You will play a key role in maintaining platform performance, supporting business users, and driving continual improvements across the BI ecosystem.
Job Description
The Technology Engineer will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Business Intelligence platforms and associated infrastructure. This includes ensuring system availability, scalability, and security while collaborating with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities Include
• Support and maintain BI platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments
• Plan and scale infrastructure, including cloud services and system capacity
• Perform system maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance
• Manage platform security, user access, and system integrations
• Provide technical guidance and consulting to business and technology partners on BI platform usage and optimization
• Develop, document, and implement administrative procedures and best practices
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality requirements, and security protocols
• Collaborate across technical and business teams to support data and reporting needs
• Manage relationships with software vendors, including support escalations and licensing
• Evaluate and test new software versions, features, and capabilities
• Design and implement improvements to enhance platform functionality and efficiency
• Support enterprise monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning initiatives
• Provide off-hours support as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Strong experience in systems administration, platform engineering, or infrastructure support
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence systems and platform support, including implementation and maintenance
• Experience supporting enterprise-level platforms, including integrations, monitoring, and capacity planning
• In-depth knowledge of cloud services, platform architecture, and systems integration
• Strong experience with Windows-based operating systems
• Experience with software installation, configuration, and system maintenance
• Familiarity with enterprise security practices, including LDAP/Active Directory integration
• Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating technical support
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including independent research and vendor collaboration
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams
• Ability to learn new technologies independently and share knowledge with team members
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Puppet or Autosys
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following BI tools:
• Power BI
• Qlik Sense
• Qlik Cloud Analytics
• MicroStrategy
• QlikView
