Role description
Role: Big Query DBA-Only W2 Candidates ( onsite role)
Location : Irving, TX
Need candidates with experience from ETL to Biq Query and Teradata expJob Description:
• 8+ years as a Data Warehouse Engineer or DBA.
• 3+ years of hands-on BigQuery administration in production.
• Map Teradata DDLs and data types to BigQuery-optimized partitioning and clustering schemas.
• Refactor legacy Teradata BTEQ scripts and SQL logic into BigQuery Standard SQL and stored procedures.
• Optimize query performance and slot utilization to manage costs for migrated workloads.
• Configure BigQuery Slot Reservations and Workload Management to replicate Teradata capacity.
• Perform data validation, row-count reconciliations, and checksums between Teradata and GCP.
• Establish query guardrails and project-level quotas to manage spend during migration phases.
• Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Monitoring/Logging.
• Experience with EDW platform migrations and enterprise-scale data engineering.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, security controls, networking basics, and DR strategies.
Experience with scripting (Python/Bash) and automation.
