The client is running a Teradata Data Warehouse migration project — moving their existing on-premise Teradata setup to Teradata Cloud (Vantage on AWS, most likely). This is a data infrastructure modernization effort, not pure development, but rather data platform engineering and cloud migration management.
They’re seeking candidates who can manage, migrate, and optimize Teradata workloads in the cloud, while ensuring stability, performance, and operational continuity during and after migration.
Core Expertise: Teradata
• The primary skill here is deep knowledge of Teradata administration or cloud deployment.
• Candidates should understand:
• Teradata architecture (nodes, AMPs, BYNET)
• Performance tuning, query optimization
• Backup/recovery strategies
• Data migration techniques (using Teradata tools or AWS connectors)
If the candidate has worked on Teradata Cloud or Teradata Vantage on AWS, that’s ideal — it shows they can handle the cloud-native Teradata environment (elastic scaling, object storage integration, etc.).
