Role description
Terraform Engineer – Azure Location: Omaha OR Denver (Fully Onsite) Duration: Contract Work Authorization: US Citizens and Green Card holders only – No C2C Overview We are seeking a hands-on Terraform Engineer with strong Azure infrastructure experience to support the design, deployment, and automation of cloud environments. This role will partner closely with architecture, development, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing Azure solutions. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with architecture and development teams to design and review Azure Landing Zone infrastructure • Build, deploy, and manage infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) • Provision and maintain Azure environments following architectural best practices • Implement and manage monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics • Enforce security best practices, including IAM, access controls, and data encryption • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure system resiliency • Automate infrastructure deployments and updates through CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps • Create and maintain technical documentation, including configurations and operational procedures • Monitor system performance and partner with development teams to optimize applications • Provide technical troubleshooting and support for infrastructure-related issues Required Qualifications • 1–3+ years of recent experience in Cloud Engineering / Infrastructure Operations with a focus on Azure • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation • Experience with Azure services, including: • Virtual Machines & Virtual Networks • Azure App Service • Azure SQL • Azure Synapse • Experience with Azure monitoring tools: • Azure Monitor • Application Insights • Log Analytics • Azure Sentinel • Understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM and encryption • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, or Zero Trust Architecture • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
