Role description
Our client, an electric vehicle manufacturer company, is looking for someone to join their team as a Test Data Operations Analyst in Tustin, CA.
• This is a W2 contract that is budgeted until December 31st, 2026
• In this role, you will influence how test data is captured, refined, and visualized. You will work directly with engineering teams to conduct automotive benchmarking, then leverage modern tools including SQL and Agentic AI to turn raw sensor data into actionable narratives for our cross-functional leadership.
What You Will Be Doing
Test Execution & Data Quality
• Support vehicle benchmarking, durability, and validation testing activities.
• Assist with test instrumentation setup and verification; experience with CANalyzer or similar tools is a plus.
• Partner with engineering and test teams to improve test procedures and data collection methodologies.
• Ensure collected data is accurate, complete, and ready for downstream analysis.
• Serve as a key link between physical testing operations and digital data systems.
Data Engineering & Analytics
• Manage the end-to-end test data workflow, from collection and storage through reporting and visualization.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, Python scripts, and dashboards to support engineering analysis.
• Leverage Agentic AI and automation tools to streamline data cleansing, summarization, and trend identification.
• Integrate third-party industry and competitive benchmarking data into internal reporting systems.
• Help establish scalable processes for managing large volumes of engineering test data.
Data Storytelling & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Translate complex engineering and performance metrics into clear, actionable insights.
• Create dashboards and reports that support Engineering, Product, Manufacturing, and Leadership teams.
• Maintain a centralized data repository that serves as a trusted source for benchmarking and performance information.
• Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Foundational experience with SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Python, data visualization platforms, or business intelligence tools.
• Exposure to automotive testing environments, vehicle systems, or benchmarking activities.
• Familiarity with CANalyzer, CAN communication protocols, or similar automotive data acquisition tools.
• Interest in or exposure to Agentic AI, automation, and emerging data technologies.
• Hands-on mindset with a curiosity for understanding how data is generated in real-world testing environments.
