Title: Test Data Strategist Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Hybrid, 3 days onsite a week required) Job Summary The API and Test Data Strategist plays a critical role in advancing the Testing CoE’s capabilities by establishing and maintaining API lifecycle standards, administering Postman environments, and enabling scalable test data management (TDM) practices. This role will collaborate across development, testing, and DevOps teams to ensure consistent, secure, and efficient API and test data strategies are adopted across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities β€’ Postman Administration β€’ Manage workspaces, collections, environments, and access controls. β€’ Define and enforce usage standards and naming conventions. β€’ Support onboarding and training for teams using Postman. β€’ API SDLC Standards β€’ Develop and maintain API governance policies across design, development, testing, and deployment. β€’ Collaborate with architecture and security teams to align standards with enterprise policies. β€’ Promote API-first development practices and reusable testing frameworks. β€’ Test Data Management (TDM) Enablement β€’ Partner with teams onboarding to the TDM platform to analyze data needs and recommend strategies. β€’ Define data masking, synthetic data generation, and provisioning workflows. β€’ Support the evolution of TDM capabilities to meet compliance and scalability requirements. β€’ Cross-Team Collaboration β€’ Act as a liaison between testing, development, and infrastructure teams. β€’ Provide guidance and documentation to support adoption of API and TDM best practices. β€’ Participate in tool evaluations and proof-of-concepts for emerging technologies. Qualifications Education β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. β€’ Master’s degree or certifications in API design, software testing, or data management is a plus. Experience β€’ 5+ years of experience in software testing, API development, or test automation. β€’ 2+ years of experience administering Postman or similar API testing platforms. β€’ Experience with API lifecycle management tools (e.g., Swagger, Apigee, Postman). β€’ Familiarity with test data management platforms (e.g., Delphix, Informatica TDM, Broadcom TDM). β€’ Strong understanding of data privacy, masking, and synthetic data generation techniques. β€’ Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments. Preferred Skills β€’ Excellent communication and documentation skills. β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. β€’ Ability to influence and drive change across teams. β€’ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
