Role description
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two Hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 4 million Hosts who have welcomed more than 1 billion guest arrivals in more than 100, 000 cities and towns located in 220+ countries and regions across the globe. Every day, Hosts offer unique stays and one-of-a-kind activities that make it possible for guests to experience the world in a more authentic, connected way.
Airbnb was born with a creative spirit, and itβs one of the most defining parts of our culture. We use our curiosity and imagination to come up with unconventional solutions. These are the ideas at the core of Airbnb:
β’ Our community is based on connection and belonging.
β’ Our creativity allows us to imagine new possibilities for people.
β’ Our responsibility is to all of our stakeholders.
β’ It takes a unified team committed to our core values to embody these ideas, and our fast-moving team is committed to leading as a 21st century company.
The Supply Tech team at Airbnb enables scalable growth, operations and productivity for Airbnbβs Host organization through reliable data, intelligent workflows, and frictionless experiences that move at the speed of Airbnb. We also work closely with product and engineering and other business technology teams as we graduate our experiments, learning and prototypes for amazing host and end user experiences.
Supply Tech in the Host Business Org is responsible for creating and managing the systems that our teams use to acquire, vet and optimize our supply of Hosts for Stays, Services and Experiences. The Tooling and Infrastructure team work with many stakeholders to gather requirements, from sales to marketing to operations, and then they work with product and engineering teams (internal and external) to get platforms and features built.
The difference you will make:
As an Airtable Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in enhancing our operational efficiency by developing and launching tools tailored for our internal teams and external partners. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather tools requirements and leverage your technical skills to create custom interfaces in Airtable. You will utilize critical thinking to structure and regroup requests, ensuring that the tools developed align with user needs. Your role will involve requirements gathering, solution development, project management, feature testing, and deployment, along with performance reporting of these systems and programs.
A typical day:
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and analyze tools requirements, using critical thinking to structure and prioritize requests effectively.
β’ Design and develop custom interfaces in Airtable, ensuring that the tools created are tailored to meet the specific needs of internal teams and external partners.
β’ Manage the project lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, including solution development, feature testing, and performance reporting to ensure tools are enhancing operational efficiency.
β’ Monitor prototypes and experimental uses cases with data reporting and dashboarding to evaluate whether a process is effective and ready for graduation to scale
Your expertise:
β’ 6+ years of work experience with increasing responsibility in a technology, operations, or consulting environment
β’ Deep Airtable mastery required: schema design, automations, scripting, interfaces, syncs, and Airtable AI β knows Airtable's constraints cold (record/table/base caps, field-length limits, automation run quotas, script timeouts, data-type quirks); can reverse-engineer large, undocumented bases and complex workflows quickly; experience managing and executing large cross-functional projects in the technology/operational space; familiarity with Salesforce, Retool, or similar CRM/ops platforms is a strong plus
β’ Strong data architecture instincts: designs scalable bases, syncs, and data flows from the start; maps data in/out of Airtable cleanly; knows when data should live in Airtable vs. a warehouse, OpsStream, or Salesforce; hands-on experience identifying use cases, onboarding teams, and providing training and technical support
β’ Analytical toolkit - Modeling and data manipulation in Excel/sheets is critical, SQL is a bonus
β’ Sound judgment on graduation pathways β knows when to prototype in Airtable vs. push to engineering vs. graduate to scaled systems; security-conscious (permissions, service accounts, secrets handling, API hygiene); domain familiarity with sales pipelines, CRM, media operations, QA/QMS, or vetting and licensing workflows a plus; confidence, resilience, and self-sufficiency in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
β’ Exceptional collaborator and influencer with the ability to work across functions and geographies and with partners at differing levels of seniority
β’ Excellent written and oral communication skills
Education:
β’ Bachelorβs Degree or equivalent; Masters a plus
Belonging & Accommodations:
