GenAI Engineer - Job Description
Location: Charlotte, NC (On-site, Remote) and New Jersey, NJ
Duration: 12+ Months Contract Role
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform for Azure resources (Azure ML, Azure AI Studio, AKS, Databricks, etc.).
β’ Deploy and orchestrate ML/GenAI models with CI/CD pipeline integration.
β’ Architect multi-cloud environments (Azure primary, AWS/GCP) focusing on hybrid deployments and disaster recovery.
β’ Optimize cloud infrastructure for AI/ML workloads (compute, storage, networking, security).
β’ Implement MLOps practices: model versioning, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
β’ Enforce IaC best practices: modular Terraform code, state management, drift detection, automated testing.
β’ Troubleshoot production AI infrastructure issues ensuring high availability and compliance.
β’ Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and document IaC patterns for ML/GenAI.
β’ Integrate emerging Azure ML services (e.g., Azure OpenAI Service, Prompt Flow) into IaC frameworks.
β’ Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for critical AI infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
β’ 5+ years as Cloud/DevOps Engineer, with 3+ years focusing on Terraform for Azure IaC.
β’ Proven expertise in deploying ML/GenAI models using Azure ML services.
β’ Strong experience with multi-cloud architectures (Azure required; AWS/GCP preferred).
β’ In-depth knowledge of IaC concepts: Terraform modules, providers, variables, workspaces, backends.
β’ Solid understanding of ML lifecycle (data ingestion, feature engineering, model serving).
β’ Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, Helm).
β’ Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
β’ Familiarity with security best practices (encryption, access controls, vulnerability scanning).
β’ Excellent problem-solving skills and agile team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Certifications: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or Terraform Associate.
β’ Experience with ARM Templates, Bicep, or Pulumi.
β’ Background in MLOps tools (Kubeflow, MLflow, Azure ML Pipelines).
β’ Knowledge of cost optimization (Azure Cost Management).
β’ Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare).
