Job Details
We are seeking an experienced OMS Engineer to support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of a remote utility clientβs Outage Management System (OMS) environment. This role will focus on the eTerra OMS platform and its integrations, ensuring reliable outage detection, analysis, and response across grid operations. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS, along with a solid understanding of AMI Filtering Rules Engine technologies and utility operations.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the eTerra OMS platform to ensure high availability, performance, and system stability
β’ Develop, enhance, and support OMS workflows and processes to meet operational and business needs
β’ Manage and support integrations between OMS, GMS modules, and external enterprise applications
β’ Monitor, analyze, and optimize the AMI Filtering Rules Engine to improve outage detection accuracy and response times
β’ Collaborate with IT teams, operations, and third-party vendors to diagnose issues and implement system enhancements
β’ Enforce system security, compliance standards, and utility industry best practices
β’ Provide technical guidance, documentation, and training support to internal stakeholders as needed
Required Qualifications & Skills
β’ 3+ years of experience administering or supporting an Outage Management System (OMS)
β’ Hands-on experience with GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS
β’ Strong understanding of OMS functionality and its role in outage response and grid operations
β’ Experience integrating OMS with GMS modules and other enterprise systems
β’ Proficiency with AMI Filtering Rules Engine concepts, configuration, and troubleshooting
β’ Familiarity with real-time utility operations and outage management best practices
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
β’ Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with SCADA, DMS, or EMS systems in a utility environment
β’ Working knowledge of SQL, scripting, or automation tools for system support and maintenance
β’ Exposure to cloud-based or hybrid OMS deployments
