Position Description:
Seneca Resources is seeking a highly motivated Test/Validation Technician to join AMD’s Client Lab team in Austin, TX. This is a high-impact role where you’ll own the final validation step before AMD’s cutting-edge products reach top-tier reviewers and customers. You’ll work alongside world-class engineers and interface with cross-functional teams and executives across the organization.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a strong grasp of system-level testing, and is passionate about delivering high-quality hardware and software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure product quality and readiness
• Align software, firmware, CPUs, motherboards, and memory with product delivery schedules
• Create and execute test queues using system automation farms
• Diagnose and resolve test automation issues across hardware, OS, workloads, and wrappers
• Partner with external and customer co-validation teams to support launch readiness
• Communicate status, progress, and results effectively to technical leads and upper management
Required Skills/Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Experience in system-level validation across CPU, chipset, BIOS, drivers, and peripherals
• Familiarity with industry-standard benchmarks and performance testing
• Proficiency in test automation workflows and scripting (C#, Python, Batch, Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with ASIC hardware, firmware, BIOS, OS, and application-level testing
• Knowledge of power sequencing, POST, HAL, and system boot processes
• Exposure to JTAG interface, register read/write, and debug tools
• Experience with defect tracking, revision control, and validation documentation
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, Xen), and certification processes
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and program teams
