Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Varicent ICM Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and delivery of Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) solutions using IBM Varicent. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Varicentβs architecture and capabilities, strong experience in compensation plan modeling, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable and high-performing technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of Varicent ICM solutions across enterprise environments.
β’ Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate incentive compensation requirements.
β’ Design scalable and maintainable compensation models, including data models, rules, calculations, and workflows.
β’ Define integration architecture with upstream and downstream systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Payroll, Data Warehouse).
β’ Provide technical leadership to development teams, ensuring best practices in configuration, performance, and maintainability.
β’ Oversee the creation of Presenter reports, Webforms, Saved Imports, and Portal Access configurations.
β’ Optimize solution performance and perform regular system health checks and audits.
β’ Develop and maintain solution documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation standards.
β’ Mentor and support development teams and business analysts on Varicent toolsets and architecture principles.
β’ Support UAT, deployment, and production rollout with change management and release governance.
β’ Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 8+ years of experience in Sales Performance Management (SPM) or Incentive Compensation systems.
β’ Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM Varicent (ICM) including Composer, Presenter, Scheduler, and Webforms.
β’ Proven experience in architecting and implementing complex compensation models in Varicent.
β’ Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL, and integration design.
β’ Proficiency in SQL, data validation techniques, and performance tuning.
β’ Experience working with large data sets, structured and unstructured data, and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2).
β’ Prior experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Cognos, Tableau) is a plus.
β’ Knowledge of Agile methodologies, and ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments.
β’ Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Varicent Technical Certification (v9 or v10) strongly preferred.
β’ Experience with other ICM tools like Xactly, Callidus, or Spiff is a plus.
β’ Experience in financial services, insurance, telecom, or healthcare industries.
β’ Familiarity with cloud architecture (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
