Job Title: VBA, Excel Macros & API Management Developer Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid) Duration: 6+ Months Contract About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled professional with strong expertise in VBA and Excel Macros development, along with hands-on experience in API Management platforms such as Google Apigee, IBM API Connect, and Tetrate Service Mesh. This role bridges business process automation with enterprise-level API integration and governance, ensuring efficient workflows and secure data exchange across systems. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain Excel VBA macros to automate reporting, data analysis, and business processes. • Build and optimize Excel-based tools for data manipulation, visualization, and integration with external APIs. • Manage and configure API gateways (Apigee, IBM API Connect) to ensure secure and scalable API consumption. • Implement service mesh solutions (Tetrate, Istio, Envoy) for microservices communication, observability, and security. • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Develop and maintain API documentation, policies, and governance frameworks. • Integrate Excel/VBA solutions with enterprise APIs for real-time data exchange. • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize both VBA code and API integrations. • Support CI/CD pipelines and automation testing for API deployments. Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • Proven experience in VBA programming and Excel Macros development. • Strong understanding of Excel functions, pivot tables, and advanced formulas. • Hands-on experience with API Management platforms (Google Apigee, IBM API Connect). • Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Tetrate, Istio, Envoy). • Solid understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth2, JWT, and API security best practices. • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps). • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
