Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled Virtio Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to next-generation virtualization and automotive software solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge Virtio device development, influence industry standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in cloud and embedded environments. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, develop, and extend Virtio devices (e.g., virtio-audio, virtio-gpu, virtio-vsock, virtio-net). β€’ Contribute to upstream projects such as QEMU and Linux kernel Virtio subsystems. β€’ Collaborate with standards bodies (e.g., OASIS Virtio Technical Committee) to help shape specifications. β€’ Build and maintain workflows for virtualized and containerized environments using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. β€’ Translate high-level requirements into well-architected, executable solutions with minimal oversight. β€’ Engage in knowledge-sharing activities, including open-source contributions, technical proposals, or industry presentations (preferred). Required Qualifications β€’ Proven experience with Virtio device development and a strong understanding of Virtio specification internals. β€’ Proficiency in C++ programming for system-level and embedded software development. β€’ Knowledge of cloud and container environments, including AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. β€’ Ability to work independently while driving projects from research and design through execution. β€’ Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Experience contributing to open-source projects (QEMU, Linux kernel, or similar). β€’ Familiarity with automotive infotainment systems development and integration. β€’ Background in Android Automotive platforms, tools, or frameworks. β€’ Experience with public speaking, proposal authorship, or influencing industry standards.
