โข The Virtual Platform Administrator will provide advanced systems administration and virtualization support to the Defense Logistics Agency J6 Information Operations Mission. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining virtualized infrastructure for on-premises data centers, DoD and commercial cloudbased offerings for public, private, and hybrid clouds. The ideal candidate will ensure system stability, security, and compliance in accordance with DoD 8570 and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
Duties Include:
Performs host, hypervisor and virtual application software implementations and upgrades for on-premises hypervisors and supporting hardware, software, and applications.
Performs corresponding cloud-based infrastructure support for virtual machines, virtual appliances, software, programs, applications, and all applicable virtualized infrastructure components.
Ensures high availability, security and integrity of hosts and virtual management applications and resources.
Monitors hypervisor, infrastructure, and virtualization applications, including setting alerts to maintain the stability of the environment and application, monitoring error logs, and automating administration tasks wherever possible.
Installs host and virtualization infrastructure application patches and releases on development, test, pre-production, and production systems.
Serves as key person in troubleshooting system problems on hosts, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure.
Creates and maintains accurate system documentation for assigned systems. Maintains current descriptions and documentation of virtualized infrastructure application and system configurations, including tracking and documenting any changes to environments.
Assists in capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning on assigned virtualized systems.
Participates in virtualization disaster recovery planning, including assisting with fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans.
Analyzes performance trends to optimize virtualized systems and application performance.
Minimum Requirements:
Active Top Secret DoD clearance
Seven(7) years of of progressive experience in the management and maintenance of virtualized server environments and hosted applications. At least two years of qualifying experience must include managing successful large scale, multi-disciplinary (network, virtualization, systems administration) projects involving virtual servers.
Required Certifications: (Please be prepared to include certification copies upon request)
DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification : Category IAT Level II - CompTIASecurity+, SSCP, or CISSP
Google Cloud Certification - Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect plus one of the following:
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security โ Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect โ Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect โ Professional, ยท AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations
