About the Team
The Defined Contributions Record Keeping Support team ensures stability and availability of the record-keeping application used by internal users and clients. The team collaborates closely with relationship managers and product teams to resolve issues and enhance user experience. We're looking for a skilled VBA Developer who can support and enhance business-critical tools and processes.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Excel VBA macros and automation tools.
β’ Enhance existing macros for improved functionality and performance.
β’ Use macros to interact with:
β’ Mainframe systems (e.g., via Rumba or other 3270 emulators)
β’ Databases such as MS Access, DB2, or SQL Server
β’ Microsoft Outlook for sending automated emails
β’ Word/Excel for generating output files
β’ Windows API for screen control and automation tasks (e.g., taking screenshots)
β’ Work with APIs using XML or JSON to connect Excel with external tools or web services.
β’ Use Strike or equivalent tools for macro versioning and production releases.
β’ Debug, test, and deploy solutions with minimal supervision.
β’ Communicate effectively with business users to understand requirements and provide solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Strong hands-on experience in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), especially in Excel.
β’ Ability to work with complex and nested macros.
β’ Experience with mainframe terminal emulators such as Rumba (3270 interface).
β’ Strong knowledge of MS Access, DB2, and SQL Server.
β’ Familiarity with APIs, including sending/receiving data using JSON and XML.
β’ Experience with Strike or similar macro version control tools.
β’ Strong debugging, testing, and troubleshooting skills.
β’ Knowledge of Outlook automation and Windows API interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
β’ 6+ years of experience in VBA development and automation scripting.
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions under pressure.
β’ Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
