Visual Designer | Location: Boston, MA | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $38-$42
A Visual Designer role within a FinTech environment focuses on conceptualizing and designing visual communications and digital interfaces. The position emphasizes leveraging emerging AI-enhanced design tools to create modern, user-centered solutions that uphold brand standards and responsible AI practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with project teams to understand business and design goals.
• Develop user-centered visual and interface designs for complex challenges using industry best practices.
• Lead the design process from concept through production, utilizing AI-assisted ideation, layout exploration, image generation, and workflow automation to enhance speed and quality.
• Produce final design assets in partnership with UX and design colleagues.
• Analyze business needs with team support to inform design recommendations.
• Create design artifacts such as sketches, wireframes, storyboards, graphics, data visualizations, and interactive layouts, using AI-driven tools to accelerate exploration and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with UX, Digital Strategy, IT, and Communications teams to identify required updates or enhancements to digital programs.
• Stay current with design research, industry trends, and advancements in AI-supported creative workflows.
• Participate in user research activities and, when aligned with standards, use AI-powered synthesis tools to identify patterns or derive insights.
• Use AI tools to assist with initial data visualization concepts and automated formatting.
• Source original and stock imagery, responsibly using AI image generation tools when appropriate for concept development.
• Maintain and promote brand guidelines, including standards for ethical, transparent, and responsible AI use in creative work.
Required Qualifications
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and modern design tools.
• Competence with HTML and CSS.
• Experience using AI-assisted design tools (e.g., generative imagery, layout suggestions, automated pattern libraries).
• Strong creative and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Strong design, typography, and production skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to articulate design decisions clearly and concisely.
• Understanding of user-centered design principles.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
• Ability to evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, accessibility, ethical use, and brand alignment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of digital photo/video production.
• Experience working in a regulated or financial services environment.
• Awareness of evolving AI capabilities and willingness to integrate them into workflows.
