Visualization Power BI Specialist (Long-Term Contract)

Title: Visualization Power BI Specialist Start Date: • Monday, 4/6 Job Description: One of our largest utility clients is seeking a Visualization Power BI Specialist to join a collaborative, cross-functional team within their Electric Operations division. This team is responsible for end‑to‑end workflow between the external and internal systems, ensuring customer filings are effectively managed, internal processes are followed, and system enhancements are delivered to support both users and operations. This is a newly created role designed to elevate the team’s reporting capabilities, enhance existing dashboards, and support ongoing strategic projects. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in both Power BI and Tableau, has experience in data manipulation and visualization, thrives in a team‑oriented environment, and can quickly understand business needs to deliver high‑impact insights. Key Responsibilities: • Partner closely with the Senior Program Specialist and their team to analyze data, review reporting needs, and participate in project discussions • Review large datasets and existing reports; identify opportunities to enhance clarity, usability, and visual impact • Leverage current reporting frameworks and add enhancements through improved design, structure, and storytelling • Begin restructuring reporting processes and dashboards within the first month • Attend team meetings, capture notes when needed, and stay aligned with project goals • Collaborate with analytics developers, contractors, and cross‑department stakeholders • Ramp up quickly on business context and data sources • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and accuracy Must haves: • 10+ years of Power BI experience • 5+ years of Tableau experience • Prior experience in the Utilities industry • Strong portfolio showcasing dashboards, visualizations, and reporting work • Proven success in data visualization, data manipulation, and analytical storytelling • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines • Bachelor's degree Compensation: $50 - $60 per hour Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
