Role description
Job Title: Data Engineer Location: Secaucus, NJ (Onsite – Hybrid – 3 days in a week) Position Type: Contract position Responsibilities: Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer with around 2 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI, along with a solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and business intelligence reporting. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to support business reporting and analytics. • Build and optimize data models and database objects in Snowflake. • Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and data requirements. • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across multiple data sources. • Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of SQL queries and Snowflake workloads. • Support data integration projects and automate data workflows. • Create technical documentation for data pipelines, dashboards, and database objects. • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Data Analysts, BI Developers, and Software Engineers. Required Skills: • 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Developer, or a related role. • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake. • Proficient in SQL, including complex joins, stored procedures, views, and query optimization. • Experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau. • Experience building reports and visualizations using Power BI. • Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT processes. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage. • Experience with Python or any scripting language is a plus. • Basic understanding of scheduling and orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar tools is preferred.
