Role description
Role: Lead Data Engineer
Location: NYC, NY (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities.
Data Warehouse Management: Maintain and optimize the SQL Server data warehouse, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity.
Process Optimization: Identify and implement enhancements to ETL processes, data pipelines, and operational workflows.
Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for data engineering initiatives, collaborating with Product Owners, Managers, and agile teams to deliver on sprint and program objectives.
Project Delivery: Oversee all aspects of data engineering activities, including design, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business and technology teams to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and best practices across all data engineering activities.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with technology changes, particularly in cloud platforms and data privacy.
Experience: 15+ years of IT experience with a focus on hands-on development and data architecture.
Technical Skills: Proficient in data modeling, pipeline creation, and merging datasets.
Client-Facing: Experienced in leading client engagements and translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Data Warehousing: 10+ years of real-world data warehousing project experience, with a deep understanding of architectural principles and design patterns.
Snowflake & Spark: Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing and Spark for data processing.
ETL/ELT Workflow Design: Proven experience in designing efficient and robust ETL/ELT workflows and job scheduling.
Performance Tuning: Expertise in performance tuning of SQL queries and Spark jobs. -Tool Proficiency: Experience with Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a self-driven attitude and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, collaborative mindset, and curiosity.
