Role description
Key Skillset: β€’ Required skill with IBM WatsonX and AI Code Assistants β€’ Proficiency in Python, Java, and/or other languages β€’ Experience with Git/GitHub, or other tools for code management β€’ Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and natural language processing General Role Description: The USPS Finance & Payment Tech Services (FPTS) is responsible for the payroll for USPS employees. The FPTS program is complex with more than 40 different applications integrated with it and is need of a comprehensive and standardized knowledge library. They are looking to document the current system using IBM WatsonX. As an AI engineer (Code Translation), you will leverage the USPS selected AI tool, IBM WatsonX, to engineer the COBAL code and translate the logic and requirements into common language. The final product will be series of standardized and detailed documents that includes the logic, relationships, data flow, and data architecture. You will be working closely with the Business Owners and their developers to understand the documentation needs and perform validations. Junior / Senior WatsonX Engineer: β€’ Configure and fine-tune IBM watsonx.ai foundation models for code analysis and documentation generation β€’ Troubleshoot AI model outputs and refine parameters to improve documentation quality β€’ Collaborate with USPS development teams to validate AI-generated business logic translations β€’ Collaborate with USPS business owners to ensure the documentation format is finalized and approved β€’ Establish and maintain documentation standards and templates across all systems β€’ Review and validate AI-generated documentation for technical accuracy β€’ Document code analysis findings and create technical specifications for AI processing β€’ Map system and program interdependencies and create system integration specifications β€’ Establish code quality standards and validation criteria for documentation generation β€’ Work closely with team lead and system integration specialist to continue the process for all the integrated system and codes β€’ Design and implement secure connectivity between mainframe systems and IBM watsonx platform β€’ Collaborate with USPS development teams to understand legacy system architectures β€’ Identify and document system dependencies, integration points, and data transformation logic WatsonX Code Translation Lead: β€’ Work closely with WatsonX Engineers to fine-tune AI models by providing technical insights and system integration logic specific to the client’s environment β€’ Serve as primary point of contact for client executives and technical leadership regarding project status and strategic decisions β€’ Monitor overall project timeline and deliverable milestones, adjusting resource allocation and priorities as needed to meet client expectations β€’ Manage client expectations regarding AI capabilities, limitations, and realistic timelines for documentation generation β€’ Conduct client status meetings and internal meetings to ensure project progress and gather feedback β€’ Oversee validation processes for AI-generated documentation, ensuring accuracy standards are met before client delivery Have a strong understanding of system integration, software architecture and microservices to be able to guide team with documenting system dependencies and integration points
