Role description
Our client, a professional services firm, is seeking a Web Data Analyst.
The firm publishes a large volume of thought leadership and receives significant web traffic. This role focuses on understanding user behavior, tracking conversion from visit to inquiry, and translating insights into measurable improvements.
This is NOT:
• This is not a paid search / performance marketing role.
• You will not manage media spend, bids, or ad campaigns.
The focus for the Web Data Analyst is on analytics, insights, and optimization of owned channels (website and related content journeys).
This is a remote contract role and does not include health benefits.
About the role
As Web Data Analyst you will:
Own web analytics & reporting
• Analyze end-to-end user journeys, from first visit through to inquiry/lead.
• Build and maintain clear, intuitive dashboards in Tableau and/or Power BI.
• Define and track KPIs: content-to-lead conversion, form completion rates, bounce & exit behavior, funnel performance, etc.
Turn data into action
• Identify which content types (topics, formats, CTAs, landing pages) drive the highest conversion rates.
• Develop evidence-based recommendations to improve UX, content strategy, and lead capture flows.
• Support A/B and multivariate testing on pages, CTAs, and forms; measure and communicate impact.
Optimize user experience & organic performance
• Map and refine key user flows (e.g., from article to contact form or newsletter signup).
• Partner with SEO efforts by analyzing organic search behavior and landing page performance.
• Analyze outbound email campaign performance and connect email behavior to on-site engagement and conversions.
What you bring
• Experience in web analytics, digital product analytics, or e-commerce analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
• Strong expertise in Tableau and/or Power BI.
• Python skills for deeper analysis, automation, and working with large datasets.
• Demonstrated history of generating insights that led to concrete changes and measurable improvements in conversion rates or funnel performance.
• Solid understanding of SEO and how organic traffic interacts with on-site content and user journeys.
• Ability to translate data into practical recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
Helpful but not necessary
• Background in e-commerce, especially conversion optimization and funnel analysis.
• Experience analyzing outbound email marketing (e.g., newsletters, nurture campaigns) and linking email metrics to on-site behavior.
• Familiarity with CRM / marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce) and tag management.

Duration: 3-6 months
Time Commitment: 10-20 hours per week
Location: Remote
