We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer with combined back-end and front-end skills to develop enterprise level publishing and ecommerce websites.
The WordPress Developer reports to the Director of Online Services and is an integral part of a team tasked with creating, updating and maintaining corporate ecommerce-enabled websites and internal applications. The primary focus of this position is developing, maintaining, and customizing WordPress products across the company.
Responsibilities:
Create/modify and support WordPress website architecture
Theme and Child Theme management and customization
Plugin management, customization and creation, including regular updates, compatibility checks, and security updates
Design and manage the website back-end (database and server integration)
Conduct website performance tests
Troubleshoot content issues
Monitor the performance of live websites
Maintain documentation of functional specifications, updates, and changes to WordPress applications
Skills:
WordPress plugin development, configuration, management, optimization
Strong knowledge of PHP
MySQL
Scripting with JavaScript and jQuery
Experience with software versioning and revision control systems (Git, Subversion)
Regular Expressions
Experience with Amazon Web Services a plus
Effective at diagnosing technical issues and presenting appropriate solutions
